Week Two

Independent Study

First I gathered up imagery that I wanted  to use as artist models and gather inspiration from. There was both graphic design and illustrations for my imagery as I wanted a verity. I wanted to find some illustration as markets most definitely have a very 'homely' feel to them, everything is homemade and not commercial at all and i felt that  small illustrations and drawings were showing this to the audience.

Next I worked on creating imagery for index and icon. I turned my icons that I had already brainstormed into small crudely drawn illustrations. For my index the patterns I had already drawn up early I refined  into chevron patterns and other similar patterns, painting them in different bright and pastel colours. I wanted my patterns to look busy and full and claustrophobic to portray the mood for the market place. I then expand on that a little creating textures that were full blocks and then creating cut outs of triangles in many different forms to create a texture.
